Cherished Badge17If you’re wondering when we are going to open the sign-up list for the Cherished Blogfest, you’re not alone. Several people have been asking. The good news is that we are preparing for this popular blogging event, but we are going to change the date. The 2017 edition of the Cherished Blogfest will take place in mid-October. The list will be active from Friday, October 13th through Sunday, October 15th.

There are two important reasons for changing to the date: First, a lot of people who wanted to participate last year, told us that they were away on vacation the last week of July. Second, several of the blogfest organizers are also co-hosting the “We Are the World” blogfest (WATWB, and since WATWB runs on the last Friday of every month, there would be a potential conflict, as well as a possible co-host-overload situation.

Beginning next week, we will be re-blogging some previous Cherished Blogfest entries. This will continue through early October, when we will publish the information about the 2017 blogfest.

By the way, if you’re interested in spreading a good story, I urge you to consider joining the WATWB. It’s easy, it’s fun and I think it’s important. If you want more information, take a look here.

      Save the image to your device

      Add it to your media library

      Copy the URL from the image in your library

      Select Widgets from Appearance menu

      Add Image widget to your sidebar

      Paste in the URL of the badge image in your library into the widget URL field

      Presto-chango – you’re done!

    This is good news! Thanks for switching the dates. So many of us in the northern hemisphere cut back on blogging and other online activities to enjoy the summer weather in July. You’ll probably get a much bigger turnout in October. Cheers!

    I did this last year and loved it. I’d like to jump in again, but I may have to just post and run with the promise to visit after I return from a trip. Great idea and very manageable. So glad you’re going to run it again this year.
